Prints Gallery

Rachel Clark works from copper, zinc or steel plates to create her colour etchings. 2009/10 London exhibitions include The Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, The Clifford Chance Award Show, The Curwen Gallery, The Rectory Gallery and Unit 2 Gallery.

Rachel Clark artist's statement

"My abstract painting and prints are linked in that they are a response to text and life, although my prints have started to test the boundary and some have what may be perceived as a figurative element. I respond to narrative which inspires powerful abstract images, has a vibrant impact on my imagination and has contemporary and personal significance. The narrative may be ancient or modern, factual or mythological - its power to inspire telling and personal abstract imagery is its relevance. I make little reference to the text or to the personal 'story' in my titles. The prints exist independently as abstract images to be responded to as they stand."
