Original Prints
Printmaker Rachel ClarkRachel Clark's original prints include multi-plate colour etchings, using copper, zinc or steel plates. As with her abstract painting her printmaking is a response to text and life. She uses narrative which inspires powerful abstract images and has contemporary and personal significance to create her imagery. Rachel's prints have been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2009 and 2010, the Clifford Chance Award Show 2009/10. 2010 exhibitions include The Curwen Gallery, The Rectory Gallery and Unit 2 Gallery. Her prints can be viewed here in the Original Print Gallery. "Colour, its physical and psychological impact, is at the heart of my work which is about the parts of life we do not understand, its mystery and poetry. I know at the outset what I want to achieve, but the resolution is often a surprise to me. That is for me the act of creation, where the created comes through a dialogue between the artist and the work - it is not in that sense academic and cannot be defined or confined by words but it can be experienced and this is the crucial element in all the paintings and prints that I make." Rachel Clark's painting has been selected for prestigious exhibitions such as the John Moore's and Pacesetter (see biography and abstract gallery). |
