Abstract Paintings

Abstract Artist Rachel Clark

Abstract artist Rachel Clark produces her paintings in series; unlike her portraiture she does not work to commission. Her abstract paintings have been selected for exhibitions such as the prestigious John Moore's and Pacesetters (see biography) and many are in private collections. Whilst she principally works in oils you will find examples of abstract art both in oil and acrylic in the Abstract Art Gallery and there are testimonials from some of her collectors on the Abstract Testimonials page.

Abstract Art Online

As an example of a completed series you can view The Planet Suite in the Abstract Art Gallery.

The idea for this series of abstract paintings came initially from listening to Holst's Planet Suite and it is therefore a series of seven paintings. They are not an interpretation of his music but interweave both Venus personal and ancient mythology using Holst as a starting point.

Six of these paintings are in private collections but if you are researching abstract art to buy, please contact Rachel Clark to discuss options and to arrange a studio visit.

"They appeal to the heart, to the eye and to the brain. I never tire of them."

Current Abstract Art Series

Amongst other works you can view her current series in progress 'Testament' in the Abstract Art Gallery.

"The series is based on my recent reading of the Old Testament and childhood memories of my introduction  to the text, its vivid stories and consequent vibrant and emotional impact on my imagination. That powerful imagery remained with me and I used it as a source for the paintings you will see in the Abstract Art Gallery. My paintings are a reflection of my life, both my inner and outer world, and are non-doctrinal."

"We wanted to project a sense of sharpness, boldness and energy…"Covenant" was exactly right."

Rachel Clark Abstract Art to Buy

Like any work of art, abstract fine art cannot be fully defined. You can know why you like a painting and why you know it to be a good work, but ultimately its magic and power to move you as it does is indefinable and in that lies its strength.

Many of the works shown in the Abstract Art Gallery are available for sale. If after viewing this abstract art online you are inspired to add to or start your own collection, please make contact to discuss purchasing a painting. See also the Collectors Page and Abstract Testimonials page.
Viewing at the studio is by appointment only. Please email or phone Rachel Clark on 020 7987 8776.

"We never thought of ourselves as people who buy 'original art'".
